Neoclassical inlaid dresser with two drawers. There is the signature "A.L Gilbert" on the stem of one side; the dresser represents the typical production of Parisian cabinetmaker André-Louis Gilbert of the 1780s-1790s. Front and sides inlaid with architectural whimsy enclosed within gilt bronze borders, wavy legs. Entirely decorated with gilt bronze elements in neoclassical taste. Veneered in bois de rose. Woods used include palm, maple, green-stained maple and boxwood. Oak interior. Yellow breccia marble top.
