This print is part of tCacce di vari animali series, a series of nine unnumbered prints engraved around 1654. Within a landscape characterized mostly by shrubs and two trees in the background, we witness the dynamic representation of a hunting scene. The incisive sign and the strong chiaroscuro contrasts enhance the figure of the hunter who, from right to left, riding his horse, is about to hurl a spear towards the deer that seems almost flattened by the speed of the race. Behind him the scene repeats itself; each hunter is accompanied by his hunting dog. Bottom right, engraved S.D.B. Single state. Good impression. Excellent state of conservation. Trimmed to the edge of the copper always visible and applied only to the upper corners as an eighteenth-century support. A few folds. Watermark: three half moons.
