Item description

Round bronze and cloisonné enamel plate designed in China in the 20th century. This dish is made of bronze and cloisonné enamel, a goldsmith technique originally applied to jewellery design. The polychrome decorations depict a sparrow resting on a cherry tree branch. Pink peonies and multi-coloured cherry blossoms coexist on a blue background. The scenes are bordered by friezes with ornamental motifs. The plates with precise decorations and cheerful colours naturally catch the eye.
