Item description

The "Serpente" lamp also known as "Snake" is an iconic piece of late 1960s Italian design. The light is diffused, the arm swivels, the diffuser is white opal methacrylate, and the structure is milk-colored metal. Designed in 1965 by Elio Martinelli, the lamp is made with methacrylate molding techniques that were innovative for the time in which it was designed, and because of its geometric shape and dynamicity it brings to life the atmosphere of those decisive years for the affirmation of Italian design in the world. It is a piece of furniture that adds an elegant retro touch to interiors. The innovative and unique detail of this piece is the upper arm of the lamp, which, being adjustable, can move 360 degrees, allowing it to be used in multiple positions without having to be moved. It was designed by Elio Martinelli and produced by Martinelli Luce in 1968. The lamp is in excellent condition. It has no defects or breaks and is fully functional. It shows some signs of wear on the base. We have not intervened with any kind of restoration, but only with a deep cleaning of the contacts and structural components.
