Pair of tapestries from the Missoni archive created by Ottavio and Rosita Missoni for the Maison. The tapestries were mounted on a wooden frame in matt black. Between 1964 and 1965 Ottavio and his wife Rosita started a wonderful professional partnership, combining the skills of both, as she came from a family of weavers, while he had a business producing sportswear. They started producing colourful knitwear for Biki, a famous Milanese dressmaker, then for La Rinascente, which chose some of their productions. From there to the first collection the step was very short. Ottavio Missoni, also known as the master of colour, with checked sheets and felt-tip pens always in hand, turned fashion into art. In fact, Missoni fabrics are masterpieces that look great in a frame. Dimensions: H. 85 cm, W. 85 cm (with frame); H. 66 cm, W. 66 cm (dimensions of each tapestry).
