A splendid antique display case of fine French manufacture, created for English colonists and dating from the 19th century. This splendid showcase is entirely made of the finest dark wood, fabulously worked and embellished. The structure is supported by four S-shaped feet made of black, highly durable, precious wood. The feet are decorated with wooden spheres. Above we find a rectangular frame decorated like a frieze, with various squiggles and wooden spheres creating bunches of grapes, which create a dramatic effect. Going up we see two very beautiful window-opening doors with spherical wooden handles. The decorations are in the centre of the rectangle of the door: the subject is a flowering tree branch with a sweet little bird perched on it, supreme nature reigning supreme. Going further up one arrives at the display case proper, again framed by the wood used for the base. On the left side is a central handle that allows the door of the only window to be opened. In the centre are three dark wooden shelves, decorated with leaves and twigs, which are very beautiful. These shelves create five large compartments that allow for a considerable amount of storage inside. Glass panes are also present on the sides, allowing a clean view from the sides. Every corner of the cabin is decorated with leaves and grapes, a splendour worthy of the era in which it was produced. Above is a large decorative frieze of squiggles and leaves, what more can you add? This piece of furniture was created with English settlers in mind, in fact it has many typically English features. It is beautifully made and beautifully decorated. Suitable for any room in the classic antique style.
