Wonderful sculpture from the 1980s designed and made by the great painter Meloniski from Villacidro. The painter Meloniski was born in Villacidro in 1943. Completely self-taught, the Sardinian artist moved to Paris in 1969 and then to Milan. He currently lives and works in the Lodi area, where Meloniski devotes himself mainly to sculpture in marble, bronze and wood, as well as painting and ceramics. One cannot separate Meloniski the artist from Meloniski the craftsman. The artist ferments his imagery, polarising its integral symbolism; similarly, the craftsman controls the primordial elements inherent in the material. Close to organic drives, to the instincts of tactility, Meloniski has developed the three paths of his research: sculpture, ceramics and painting. His sculpture was a knowledge of stone, wood and metal (the three elements of the earth). In this case, it is a kinetic sculpture with a round silver-plated metal base at the centre of which is a slender rod that supports the actual body of the statue. This has an elongated shape, reminiscent of a leaf, the base of which is made of a very durable light-coloured wood. The following is made of brass, with some wear and tear from time. In the centre, strings can be seen sprouting out, creating an attractive geometric play. The sculpture is suitable for collectors.
