Rare pair of Perla armchairs designed by Giulia Veronesi and produced by ISA Bergamo, Italy, in the early 1950s. Its sensual curves and elegantly tapered legs give the armchair a sculptural and modern look. These beautiful armchairs have been completely refurbished and recently upholstered in sumptuous ivory velvet. The Perla model is one of the iconic chairs of the modern Italian era. Bibliography: Domus no. 274, October 1952, page 4. The designer of the Perla model was credited as G. Veronesi in the ISA advertisement in Domus. It had previously been assumed that the full name was Guglielmo Veronesi. Further recent research indicates that it was Giulia Veronesi who designed the Perla armchair and sofa.
