Item description

Bronze sculpture depicting a Turkish warrior attributed to Hans Peisser (1506-1571) and Pankraz Labenwolf (1492-1563), 16th century. Another version of this sculpture is kept in the Germanisches National Museum in Nuremberg (inventory no. PI.O.2851); in the same collection there is also a Turkish archer (inventory no. PI. O.2948) with which the work presented here probably formed a single sculptural group. It has some light signs of wear and the blade of the sword, cast separately, has been lost.
