Pair of Art Deco armchairs by Giuseppe Pagano and Gino Maggioni, 1940s. Bentwood structure, green velvet seat and backrest; the upholstery has been replaced. Seat height: 43 cm. These armchairs were made for the Bocconi University in Milan. Pagano (1896-1945) was an architect, known for his involvement in the Rationalist movement in Italy until the end of World War II; he designed exhibits, furniture and interiors and was an amateur photographer and long-time editor of "Casabella" magazine. Gino Maggioni (1898-1955) was also an architect; important pieces of furniture came out of his company "Brevetti Curvati Maggioni", which were used to furnish, for example, the Bocconi University in Milan.
