Beautiful and ingenious armchair, model TopKapi, designed by the great Milanese designer Francesco Binfaré born in 1939 for Cassina in 1997. The first models were produced from 1998 onwards. TopKapi has a modern and highly original shape. It consists of two elements and is modular, so that the elements can be arranged differently. The backrests and seats are movable and allow easy rearrangement of the sofa-armchair arrangement. The artefact is very comfortable and well designed. It is made of the highest quality materials worthy of Cassina and the Made in Italy that it represents. Internal upholstered frame, with grey coloured 100% cotton outer cover with red coloured 100% cotton cushion. The condition is excellent. The armchair has been kept as a pure object of high design, for a private collector's item. An artefact that fulfils the functions of a sofa and armchair. Enveloping shape that incorporates a completely new concept of relaxation. The result of years of skilful craftsmanship and technological research. TopKapi guarantees the most practical comfort thanks to the intelligent cushion and the back and armrests that can be transformed like a triclinium of a Roman patrician conscript. A solution designed exclusively for well-being, as it easily follows the position and movements of the user. Francesco Binfaré is an artist, designer and creative director who has made research his mission. He started working for Cassina in 1960, specialising mainly in technological research before becoming assistant to the far-sighted Cesare Cassina. His talent led him to become director of the Cassina Centre, participating in the creation of some design icons, such as Toshiyuki Kita's Wink and Paolo Deganello's Torso. In 1992 he also began a relationship with Edra, where he created L'Homme et la Femme, Tangeri, Angels and Flap. Dimensions: W 140 x D 105 x H 107 cm, seat height 42 cm.
