Item description

Original late Victorian style toilet bottle; on the body, made of smooth crystal, rich and elaborate silver decorations have been applied; for closure, it was accompanied by a comfortable cap whose linear decorations contrast pleasantly with the others on the bottle; all the silver parts are made in investment casting finished with a chisel and assembled with precise and meticulous welding. The bottle bears a single hallmark on the neck of the lid: a swan in a circular field; it is a French brand introduced on 1 July 1893 on watch cases of all origins; it was later affixed by France as a hallmark of silver fineness on objects from other countries sold at public auctions. From the style of the workmanship, the design of the decorations and its quality, we can assume with good certainty that the bottle was made in Holland between 1905 and 1910, undoubtedly by skilled silversmiths and that, having arrived in France through an auction, the French Inspection Office has certified its value by placing the aforementioned "swan" stamp on the object. Our bottle is elegant and graceful and will bring a touch of sophistication to any dressing table or a harmonious classicism to the bedroom. The object is in good condition, only on the upper edge of the silver in contact with the glass is there a small dent.
