Item description

The pair consists of two massive and linear Murano glass vases of three colors; they have a strong line, with sharp, decisive cut, and the edges are very accentuated; the colors, inserted in the transparent form, combine with harmony and precision. The two vases were made in Murano by the Mandruzzato Company between 1960 and 1964 using the "vetro sommerso" technique. The "vetro sommerso" is a very old working technique, which, starting from a blown or solid glass, allows to obtain several superimposed layers of different colors with a suggestive chromatic effect, this is possible by immersing the glass being worked in crucibles with different colors; the operation is not simple and is performed only by very experienced Master Glassmakers. The Mandruzzato company was founded in 1934, and for generations it has passionately carried on a family project, making unique furniture and design pieces; its craftsmen were all true Glass Masters and the company soon became one of the best in Murano. In 2000, Alessandro Mandruzzato, a Master Glassmaker born in 1970, became the owner of the company. Developing and modifying ancient and new techniques of working, he creates, in collaboration with famous designers, unique objects, but rich in tradition. Our vases belong to the traditional period of Ditta Mandruzzato, but they equally have a simple and modern design, with a unique geometric shape and exceptionally pure and bright colors. The vases are in excellent overall condition. Measures large vase width 6 cm, depth 6 cm, height 21 cm. Small vase width 5 cm, depth 5 cm, height 15 cm. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the items.
