SILVER Seller in Venezia, Italy
Watercolor on paper by Salvatore Postiglione (Naples, 1861 – 1906) depicting the portrait of a cellist, made in Naples in the last quarter of the 19th century. Signed lower left "S. Postiglione". In excellent condition, the drawing depicts a cello player elegantly dressed in a blue dress with yellow details. The rest of the scene is deliberately left sketchy, to focus attention on the central subject alone. Size without frame: 43 x 30 cm.
