6 Galaxy chairs by Umberto Asnago for Giorgetti, 1980s
Six Galaxy upholstered chairs by Umberto Asnago for Giorgetti Italia, early 1980s. They are 40 years old. Very good condition. Minimal signs of normal use, four chairs are in good overall condition, two chairs have two marks on the fabric that require textile work (photo), otherwise they are ok. Two have upholstery on the backrest as well, in the form of a headrest. Lacquered wooden frame in glossy black finish with upholstered seat in luxurious Tropic Paradise fabric. Yellow with a close-up design of a paradise flower (Strelitzia reginae). The tropical flower par excellence. High craftsmanship and Brianza production by Giorgetti's Monzese masters. Historical Italian company founded in 1897 in Meda-Monza. Giorgetti SPA. A clear reference to the simple, pure geometric lines of the Glasgow School (Charles Rennie Mackintosh) and inspiration from the Viennese Seccession (Josef Hoffann).
