Ceramic depicting a Sardinian girl designed by Sandro Vacchetti. Delightful ceramic statue depicting a sweet little girl in traditional Sardinian clothing. The work is model n° 254 and was designed by Sandro Vacchetti for Essevi. This one in particular has the date 9 October 1938 as well as the manufacturer's stamp. Rare and valuable, these figurines by Epigoni Lenci have become highly coveted by collectors over the years. Sandro Vacchetti, born in Cuneo, moved to Turin at an early age. Equipped with great artistic talents, he undertook evening studies at the Albertina Academy. Called by Emilio Scavini to collaborate, together with other great names in Piedmontese painting, on the decoration of Lenci dolls and ceramics of which he became artistic director in 1922. The figurine is in a good state of conservation, it shows some small signs of aging and some previous restoration which is marked and visible above all in the pink part of the skirt.
