Danish modular bookcase in mahogany, 1970s. Strikingly reminiscent of Mogens Koch's famous and timeless design from 1928, the "MK Bookcase System". The Koch bookcase has been produced continuously for more than 80 years and this particular set most likely dates back to the 1970s. This particular bookcase, with its nine square modules and twenty-six shelves, offers almost infinite flexibility with countless elements. The basic module, the bookcase with its internal compartments, can be easily adapted to the size of the books by changing the height of the internal shelves. The design also allows individual units to be stacked or arranged in various configurations to suit different spaces and needs. This flexibility makes it suitable for rooms of various sizes and purposes. It's like playing Tetris in real life. Each bookcase unit is precision constructed from mahogany wood, featuring clean lines and careful joinery. The intense color and fine grain of the wood add charm and warmth to the minimalist, geometric shape. The wood has been cleaned and treated with protective oil to enhance its grain. All nine modules are in excellent vintage condition with minimal and normal signs of use and age. The single module is 72 cm high, 80 cm wide and 32 cm deep.
