Item description

Collection of four beautiful polychrome faience planters. Nevers manufacture, second half of the 18th century. The planters are in the shape of 'commodes', the typical French bedside tables, with three lively curved drawers. Entirely hand-painted using the "Trompe-l'oeil" technique, a naturalistic painting technique based on the use of chiaroscuro and perspective, which reproduces reality in such a way as to appear to the viewer's eyes as an illusion of reality. A technique typical of the productions of the South of France. Truly excellent condition despite its age. Presence of chipping at the edges.
