Splendid still life from the second half of the 17th century. Oil painting on canvas depicting a magnificent bouquet of flowers on a vase, of great pictorial quality. Painting attributable to the Dutch painter Karel Van Vogelaer (1653-1695), lacking authentication. He specialised in still lifes and worked mainly in Italy and was known as Carlo dei Fiori. This work is distinguished by certain aspects typical of his style, the compositional and chromatic balance, the sensitivity in transparencies and the accuracy in the representation of the different botanical species. Worthy of mention is the detail of the reflection on the vase, a detail that denotes considerable technical skill. Antique coeval frame in carved and gilded wood, decorated with fascinating floral motifs. Painting already restored with re-staining, replacement of the frame and repainting in some small places. Painting overall in excellent state of preservation. Light painting H 71 x W 58 cm.
