Item description

Rosewood bookcase by Sven Andersen Møbelfabrikk, 1960s. It is a major Norwegian furniture manufacturer and one of the largest and most modern furniture factories in Norway in the 1950s. Sven Andersen designs often display a combination of elegant, geometric lines and practical features, in line with Scandinavian design principles, which is clearly evident in this particular piece of furniture. This bookcase was designed to be aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. The use of a rare combination of richly grained two-tone rosewood and light-colored cane provides both a durable finish and a warm vintage feel. Attention to detail is evident everywhere, from the lightly carved shelves and cabinet edges to the beautifully carved handles, precision woven cane and geometric carpentry joints, all showcasing the artistry of Scandinavian craftsmen. This modular bookcase features a combination of open shelves and cabinets, allowing for versatile storage and display options. The addition of a compact desk makes the piece a perfect alternative to traditional desks, creating a discreet and fully functional space for a home office. The bar cabinet is 37 cm high, 80 cm wide and 28 cm deep; depth when fully open: 64 cm. The cabinet with internal shelf is 36 cm high, 80 cm wide and 28 cm deep. The desk is 14 cm high, 80 cm wide and 37 cm deep. The six shelves are 80 cm wide and 20 cm deep. The three uprights are 208 cm long. Since all elements measure 80 cm wide, they can be arranged according to your needs and can be placed lower, higher or exchanged; the provision presented is just an example. The shelves and cabinets are mounted using a unique system of metal pins and hooks, making the joints invisible and aesthetically pleasing. Our team checked the bookcase and made sure that the components fit together and that the doors work perfectly and correctly. The wood has been cleaned and protected with layers of protective oil. Despite the passage of time, the wall unit remains in excellent original condition. To fully enjoy the functionality of the furniture, we recommend wall mounting.
