Philippe Starck

The career of French designer and architect Philippe Starck (Paris, 1949) has often been intertwined with the production of large made in Italy brands. Enfant-terrible, design legend of the 80s and 90s as well as the first to be defined a "star-designer", Starck designed chairs such as La Marie, Eros, Victoria Ghost, Louis Ghost, Dr. NO and Dr. NA, milestones in the history of the 90s and 2000s interior, together with the famous Juicy Salif citrus juicer that evokes a spider, designed by Starck in 1990 for Alessi, or the Miss Sissi table lamp designed for Flos in 1991. United by an inclusive vision of the role of design — «We must replace beauty, which is a cultural concept, with goodness, which is a humanist concept» —,  Starck's creations carry on the idea of reducing forms, but without ever giving up exuberance and surprise effect.
