Not to be missed

Yacht Club Life

Private, exclusive and stylishly furnished, yacht clubs are the symbol of a way of living and some of them became real icons for sea and sailing lovers. Let's get to know 3 of these exclusive places and discover their decor and architecture.

Sailing, regattas and beautiful yachts are all over our minds especially during the summer months. But how many people visited and got to know the homes of the most beautiful boats in the world? Today we take you on a tour through three of the most prestigious yacht clubs in the world.

Royal Thames Yacht Club

Presumably the oldest yacht club in the world is located on an island inhabited by great sailors, and yet its refined headquarters is in the middle of the city. We are talking about the Royal Thames Yacht Club, the exclusive club founded in 1775 in London in the Knightsbridge district on the Thames. As well as housing a fleet of J80s (small racing boats) the building welcomes its members to the Clubhouse where there are two bars, an acclaimed restaurant and confortable and stylish accommodation for those who decide to stay overnight. Anyone wishing to join should be recommended by current RTYC members, but the club can be visited during a multitude of chic events.

Yacht Club de Monaco

Luxury and sustainability are the backbones of the building designed by Norman Foster to house the Yacht Club of Monaco: photovoltaic cells, solar thermal panels and a cooling system that uses seawater are camouflaged in the volumes of the club's structure which is inspired by the deck of a cruising ship. Here the global elite gather to watch the Formula One Grand Prix on chairs by B&B Italia, cushions by Fendi casa and other Italian and foreign design furniture.

New York Yacht Club

"Home" to the prestigious America's Cup regatta, the New York Yacht Club, was founded in 1844 and has been based first in New Jersey and since 1901 in the majestic Manhattan building on 44th Street. Anyone can admire its characteristic ship-like windows from the outside, but only a few can get access to the charming interiors and their amenities. In addition to its exclusivity, this place dedicated to sailing stands out for its collection of model boats and nautical-style paintings that alternate between walnut tables and chippendale sofas. The club has also recently opened a waterside venue in Newport, where the Harbor Court is located.
