Gallery T293 and the Agovino Collection present 'Il Miracoloso', a solo exhibition of site-specific works by Isabella Ducrot (Naples 1931) for the church of San Giuseppe delle Scalze in Pontecorvo, Naples.

The exhibition is dedicated to the "today's possible miracles" in the words of the artist, and her works are located where there once were paintings by Mattia Preti and Luca Giordano. The gaps left by time are filled with monumental works on paper, over four meters high and two meters long, depicting three events narrated in the New Testament: The Annunciation, The Adoration of the Magi, and The Descent of the Holy Spirit.

The current state of the building that houses Ducrot's personal exhibition is what remained after the earthquake of about fifty years ago, a splendid testimony of Baroque Naples. This is what the artist said when she was offered the project: "I agreed with emotion to adapt to its magniloquence, to confirm its exaggeration, to dare and approach its contained unrestraint. I wondered if I could dare to cover the naked walls that had housed the immense altarpieces of Mattia Preti and Luca Giordano".
