Self-supporting teak bookcase, by Vittorio Dassi, Italy, 50s 1

Item description

Mid-Century freestanding bookcase by Vittorio Dassi, made in Italy in the 1950s. It is made of 2 freestanding units, equipped with four shelves, one cabinet with drop-leaf door available as secretaire, one cabinet with door and drawers and also the element with only two drawers side-by-side. It’s original of the 1950s, made in warm teak wood veneered and finished with brass details with a unique selling proposition given by its functional mounting system that can be done without the need to use tools and in total absence of screws. It’s in very good conditions of the period with slight signs of wear consistent with age and gentle use. Illustrated in: Irene de Guttry and Maria Paola Maino, “Il mobile italiano degli anni Quaranta e Cinquanta” (Editori Laterza 1992), p.151.
