Console in carved and gilded wood. It rests on four supports with a double opposing curve ending in full-bodied curled volutes held by masks; on the upper volutes rest female caryatids carved in the round. The connection of the legs is made by volutes ending in another female protome, here facing upwards, with a pair of petals and acanthus leaves acting as a backdrop. The band under the top is centered by a carved cherub placed within architectural scrolls. On the sides simple carved scrolls; the lambrequin-carved motifs that decorate the furniture feature pendants carved like curtain tassels. Shaped top veneered in Medici breccia resting on a moulding.
