Item description

This unique oil on canvas painting shows a female (possibly Saint Rosalia) in ecstatic joy. Her expression is quite memorable, and has religious feel to it. This painting is assumed to be painted by a follower (or even circle of) Onorio Marinari (Florence 1627-1715) and is of Italian origin. It is assumed to be pained in 18th century (canvas has been relined long time back and there is quite a lot of old restoration on top of original paint). It was definitely painted by someone with an artistic gift. The strength of the impression that the facial expression and posture make is undeniable. It has romantic feel to it. The style and paint handling definitely is Italian, I would say 1700 but it could also be older. My guess is that this female could also represent the goddess Flora, a Roman goddess of fertility that you can see revived as an allegorical motif in Renaissance and Baroque art. Please observe an eye 👁️in between flowers (photo). This painting is a secret to be rediscovered. Please feel free to message me any questions in connection with this painting. Painting size: 64 cm / 50 cm With antique frame (wood) 70 /55 cm Depth 5cm Each painting is professionally packed and secured before being shipped out. This painting can be sold with internal frame (as shown on first photo) Payment 4 monthly installments each of 577,5 euro by November 2025.
