A surprising and rare Executive desk chair designed in 1974 by Otto Zapf for Knoll International. This model exemplifies the removal of Zapf from the net lines of the conventional office furniture of the time, instead embracing a bold and sculptural softness. Commissioned under the direction of Bobby Cadwallader, then president of Knoll, Zapf introduced a series of chairs characterized by their comfort, generous proportions and unique aesthetic.
The design is characterized by cushion -shaped volumes in precious skin, wrapped on an internal steel structure and mounted on a lacquered metal base. Its inviting and bulbous form and padded armrests make it as visually captivating as it is comfortable - for an important office or for collector's interior.
