Rocking hammock armchair dating from the 1940s. The structure is made of solid beech wood with a walnut-stained finish, while the seat is formed by a robust bordeaux corduroy velvet stretched hammock-style between the frame. The chair features a scissor structure designed to provide smooth rocking and partial space-saving when not in use: when stored, the backrest stands upright while the base remains stable on the ground, forming a characteristic 'L' silhouette. All joints and moving pins are in solid brass, a typical detail of pre-industrial craftsmanship. The armchair is equipped with a removable and adjustable headrest cushion with straps, designed to adapt to the user's height and provide cervical support. The original covering was likely leather, replaced over the years with the current velvet fabric. The chair is in excellent restored condition, solid and stable, with smooth rocking movement. Dimensions: height 85 cm (varies with rocking), width 70 cm, length 110 cm.
