Gerry Hunt's career is parallel to the development of contemporary art itself. Born in 1927, his artistic path reflects the main artistic trends of the second half of the twentieth century. This interest in the "languages" of twentieth century painting is clearly visible in its 1980 publication, Some Principles and Practice of Twelve Modern Art Styles (Corale Press, London). Despite the heterogeneous nature of Hunt's work, there is a prevalent concern for the balance between art and crafts, between theoretical knowledge and practical execution.
