It has a central medallion adorned with peonies, and other symbolic flowers. Its border is very particular and unusual we find "thunder", a symbol of infinite luck. The carpet described is an ancient carpet from the Ningxia region (Ninghsia), an area historically renowned for the production of high quality rugs in the province of Kansu (current Gansu), located in Western China.
