Description: Antique sculpture in glossy bronze signed "Louis Moreau" resting on the base in Levanto red marble. The sculpture depicts the Nymphe de Bois and is a fascinating representation of the legendary nymph of the woods of the ancient legend, created by Louis Moreau, one of the extraordinary members of the Moreau family who dominated the world of sculpture in the second half of the 19th century and at the beginning of the twentieth century in Paris. The young woman is depicted in a joyful attitude while she is surrounded by plant and volatile elements and rests on a base always with vegetable elements. The character with an drape around the hips in a sensual and contemplative pose, the body is flexible slender and well modeled with anatomical care and naturalism in detail.
