The production of the artist Salvo Benanti is supported by a very classic and traditional taste. For this reason his style is objective and highly didactic. The setting of the works is figurative and Salvo Benanti shows all his ability in obtaining a perfect realistic rendering in a representation rich in detail. Despite this, the painter does not disdain using a cursive touch, made of rapid flashes, to guarantee greater liveliness and freshness of execution to his works. And so the brushwork displays a certain level of synthesis, never compromising the clarity of the anecdotal tale or the realist subject, but just enough to infuse the scene with a delicate lyricism.
Salvo Benanti, born in Palermo on 5 April 1951, after attending the Art Institute of the Sicilian capital, attended pictorial restoration courses in Brera and Florence, dedicated himself to realist painting. Cited by the specialized press and by Bosco, Miele, Forti, Marussi, Ungaretti, Mendola, he participated as an assistant set designer in the creation of sets for important operas at the Ente Autonomo Teatro Massimo in Palermo. His works are kept in private collections in various municipalities in Italy. Present in the most prestigious art yearbooks.
