Period: Louis XVI, XVIII Century (Late 18th century).
Origin: Piedmontese manufacturing.
Structure and Materials: The furniture is made with a solid structure and is finely laminated and inlaid in walnut, boxwood and green stained pear.
Line: The lines are rigorous and neoclassical, typical of the Louis XVI style, with a square and slender body that rests on elegant truncated pyramid feet, in line with the Piedmontese production of the time.
Geometric inlay (Marqueterie): The most valuable element is the rich decorative apparatus. The facade, sides and top are adorned with complex geometric herringbone (or fishbone) marqueterie in light and dark essences. This decoration is framed by a double inlaid thread which features a valuable "arrow" or "chevron" motif, a design much loved in Piedmont for its chromatic and optical liveliness.
