Description: Ancient Neapolitan sculpture in polychrome wood depicting a blessing child.
The child has naturalistic childish proportions with a tilted head and large eyes and a frontal gaze and rests on a gilded and carved wooden base.
The arms are raised and open with hands posed in a blessing and welcoming gesture so that the anatomical rendering is simplified but attentive to the main volumes.
The complexion appears to be treated with pinkish chromatic modulations concentrated on the face, chest and knees.
The long and wavy hair is original of the time.
Conditions: Excellent condition.
Provenance: Naples 18th century.
Measurements: 30x20 H65cm.
