Louis XV style chandelier in bronze with cut crystals, end of 19th century
Rich and fascinating Italian chandelier. Its robust structure is in bronze, it is very elegant and well proportioned. Numerous and massive lead crystals with different shapes (spherical, florets, jagged leaf, arrow, and teardrops) were then expertly applied and distributed. The crystals have been cut, faceted and finely ground, then polished perfectly. The lighting system is composed of a large lamp located in the upper part of the chandelier, hidden by the crystals and by eight fake candles equipped with a bulb holder and supported by elaborate crystal bobeches. Its beauty reaches its peak when it is turned on: a fabulous explosion of lights and incredible rays, a cascade of light. The chandelier is in the Maria Teresa style executed between 1880 and 1900. It is in perfect condition, complete with all the crystals. Attention: the electrical system has been rebuilt 10 years ago and is functional, but it has European wiring, so the compatibility of the voltage in the other states must always be checked by an electrician before use.
