Carpet created based on the original design by the artist Giacomo Balla, one of the main exponents of Italian Futurism. The drawing dates back to the 1930s and is titled “Flowers + Space”, with the signature “Futur Balla” at the bottom. Hand knotted in limited edition wool in the 1980s. The design is characterized by strong visual rhythm, symmetries, color contrasts, and abstract shapes that evoke movement and energy – all hallmarks of Futurism. Hand knotted in pure wool. Giacomo Balla (1871 – 1958) was an Italian painter, sculptor and set designer. He was a leading exponent of Futurism, signing together with the other Italian Futurists the manifestos that sanctioned its theoretical aspects.
