Antique Welsh writing desk from the mid-19th century. High quality furniture finely carved and veneered in mahogany, rosewood and fruit wood. Finished desk from the center equipped with two spacious drawers and wooden top in excellent size, also ideal for professional use. Table resting on four feet sculpted with floral decorations equipped with metal wheels to facilitate moving the furniture.
Under a drawer there is still a commercial production label for the desk which refers to Isaac Davies's Manufactory in King Street in Carmarthen, a well-known Welsh company that was founded around 1821. A piece of furniture that has undergone some restoration work over time (see photo). Structurally sound and solid, desk with some signs of wear, overall in good state of conservation.
