Silver candlesticks, they were made between 1950 and 1955 by a small workshop in Florence. They were made on commission for a noble family of the city, so they were never put on the market. For this reason, they have only the silver mark 800 thousandths and not the state mark. The skillful Master craftsman executed them with a perfect and elaborate fusion and then finished with a meticulous chiseling. The craftsman was inspired by the Rococo style, creating two unique, exceptional and exclusive works certainly satisfying the request of his clients. The term Rococo derives from the French word rocaille, the term indicated the artificial rocks, stones, and shells that were used for the decoration of fountains, gardens, and caves and is considered an evolution of the late Baroque. It evokes and reflects the aristocratic taste of court life, its characteristics are recognizable for the great elegance and opulence of the forms, the branched undulations in playful curls and light floral arabesques.
