prestigious pair of period armchairs dating from the second half of the 19th century, in the full Rococo Revival (Louis Philippe / Second Empire) style. These pieces represent the elegance of the upper middle class living rooms of the time and are characterized by the famous "balloon" shape of the backrest. Technical and Artistic Details: Structure: Made of fine wood finely hand-carved with floral motifs on the selvage and front crossbeam. Legs: Classic arched front legs ("cabriole") equipped with original brass/ceramic casters, perfect for easy movement without ruining floors. Upholstery: Fine damask fabric in sage green hue with garland floral motifs. The armrests are embellished with refined trimmings with hanging tassels. Conservation status: Excellent. The structure is solid and the padding is still perfectly supported. Well preserved fabric. Size: Total Height : 124 cm Width: 70 cm Depth: 60 cm Seat height: 45 cm
