This teak desk was manufactured in Poland in the 1960s and it is an example of post-war design, clearly inspired by Scandinavian modernism. At that time, Polish furniture manufacturers increasingly embraced simple, understated forms, reflecting contemporary European trends.
The furniture's form is based on a classic cabinet layout. On the left side is a three-drawer module, and on the right, a lockable cabinet with a single door (a key is included). Above these, a suspended, recessed section with two additional drawers is placed, creating a distinctive two-level top. This solution lends lightness to the design and organizes the proportions, while also enhancing the functionality of the worktop.
The fronts feature integrated, milled handles with soft, rounded lines amde from solid teak. This detail is typical of 1960s production, when metal elements were abandoned in favor of carpentry solutions integrated directly into the front's form. Slender, slightly tapered legs lift the frame above the floor, lending a visual lightness despite the compact design.
This piece of furniture has been professionally and carefully restored by removing old coatings, staining and finishing with varnish. The restoration was carried out by a talented and experienced carpenter with over 20 years of experience. Thanks to these treatments, the desk looks stunning and will serve its new owner for many years without fear of damage or wear from everyday use.
