Item description

This dark patina bronze sculpture portrays the bust of a smiling young man, characterized by a blindfold that entirely covers his eyes, recalling the classic iconography of the "blind man's buff" or an allegory of innocence and play. The work stands out for its dynamic and vibrant modeling, particularly evident in the wavy hair and in the details of the ribbon knotted around the neck, which suggest a stylistic influence attributable to the Italian sculptor Medardo Rosso or to the Verismo movement of the late nineteenth century. The head rests on a quadrangular base in light veined marble, fixed by an exposed metal pin which underlines its artisanal structure. The bronze surface has an irregular texture that captures the light in a fragmented way, emphasizing the joyful and vital expression of the face. dimensions 33 x 15 x 18 cm (H x W x D) SKU 428271
