Scandinavian teak bedside table designed by Bertil Fridhagen for Bodafors, with shaped top.
Scandinavian teak bedside table designed by Bertil Fridhagen for Bodafors, a refined example of Swedish production from the 1950s and 1960s. The line is essential and slender, with a light structure on four thin legs and a practical lower shelf. A distinctive element is the curved workmanship of the top, with a raised edge and gently shaped corners that create a continuous, almost organic frame. In harmonious contrast, the drawer handle has an opposite curvature. Fridhagen, active for Bodafors, is known for a sober but refined design, capable of combining functionality and discreet plastic details. Its furnishings fit fully into the tradition of Swedish modernism, where proportion, quality craftsmanship and attention to the material define objects designed to last over time.
