Refined monumental sculpture in monoxylous solid wood (made from a single log), dating back to the mid-20th century 1940. The work depicts a standing female figure, inspired by the classical iconography of the Venus Pudica, reinterpreted with the synthetic and linear taste typical of twentieth-century Italy. The figure is characterised by an accentuated verticality and a clever play of volumes. Of particular value is the workmanship of the drapery, engraved with firm grooves that create a strong chiaroscuro dynamism, contrasted with the smoothness of the body and face, the latter with archaic and serene features. Technical Details Material: Fine hardwood Walnut. Era: 1940. Technique: Hand carving on one piece. Height: 111 cm. Width: 25 cm. Depth: 18 cm. Weight: about 20 kg. State of Conservation The work is in excellent structural condition. Beeswax finish. Notes for the Collector This sculpture represents an element of great visual impact, ideal for enhancing entrances, professional studios or state rooms. The style lies between moderate expressionism and decorative art of authorship.
