Rare example of pressed glass centerpiece produced by the Croatian manufacturer STS Abel Zagreb between the late 1920s and early 1930s. The object is distinguished by the refined technique of marbled glass (often cataloged as Lithyalin or Marmorite), with an exceptional swirl pattern in shades of black, amber and cream that imitates the veins of natural agate.
The purely Art Deco design features a flared body with a scalloped edge, supported by a fan-shaped base and embellished with two sculptural handles in the shape of stylized birds (doves).
