Item description

Description: Antique return from Egypt coffee table in mahogany feather with inserts of gilded bronze elements belonging to the second half of the 19th century. The yellow Siena marble top rests on a band under the top highlighted by expertly chiseled gilded bronze elements with a vegetal motif. The four square-section legs are surmounted by busts of Egyptian-style caryatids, an iconic element of the Napoleon III style. The legs end with lion's paw feet and are connected to each other by a mixed-line base with a bronze fitting in the centre. General Condition: Restored by our master craftsmen with traditional shellac and handmade alcohol method. Provenance: France second half of the 19th century. Measurements: Diameter 65cm. Height 80cm. Document: Certificate of Authenticity.
