Ancient Italian painting from the second half of the 19th century. Ancient copy of the famous masterpiece by Guy Head from the end of the 18th century, Iris bringing the water of the River Styx to Olympus for the oath of the Gods, of excellent pictorial quality. Oil on canvas work, first canvas, which takes up the subject and size of the original painting now exhibited at the National Gallery of Scotland. Carved and gilded wooden frame from the 20th century, beautifully decorated.
Perfectly proportioned picture, easily placed in different parts of the house, for antique dealers and collectors. The canvas has some old conservative restoration work with a visible patch on the back (see photo). Of great quality and elegance, classic subject finely crafted respecting the layout of the original. In a beautiful patina, it is in a good state of conservation. Painting light H 67 x W 55 cm.
