Wrought iron snake, Italy early twentieth century The reptile, with its head in mid-air, supports itself on its tail and the tongue carries a small basket. At the base, resting on the body of the snake, a branch with an apple attached, clear iconographic reference of original sin. Pocket watch holder, usually positioned at the entrance, could be hung or place the object on the way home. The inside measurement of the basket is 4.5 cm by 5 cm In very good condition, no breakage or repair
