Oil painting on cardboard signed and dated by
Giuseppe Serafini (Montelupo Fiorentino 1915 - 1987)
The Tuscan artist, discovered by Antonio Possenti and
inserted by him into the naive artists movement,
works as a ceramist and starts to
painting out of passion since young age.
His humble origins do not allow him to buy colors
so he invents his own mixed painting technique
His favorite subjects are scenes depicting the works of his land,
faces, animals, especially doves and oxen.
In the painting in question the doves surround in a scattered way
two men with hollow faces, with large blue eyes
At the bottom right the signature and date (84)
which places him at the end of the author's career
