Artistic plate in polychrome majolica from Deruta, Mari manufacturing. Hand-decorated with a profile of a Renaissance lady in the cavetto surrounded by the scroll \"virtus lucet in tenebris\" \"virtue shines in the darkness\". The richly decorated brim features a Raphaelesque motif. Manufacture mark rendered in brown on the back of the plate. The diamond with the acronym IMA indicates \"Istituto Maioliche Artistiche\" which certified the quality of the product.
