SILVER Seller in Treviso, Italia
A splendid oil painting on canvas depicting a picturesque coastal view of the Gulf of Naples, with fishing boats in the foreground and others moored in the water. In the background, a hilly coastline dotted with small white villages can be seen. A composition typical of views of the Gulf of Naples (including islands, such as Procida and Ischia) or the Amalfi Coast. This work dates back to the second half of the 20th century (1970s/1980s). • Style and Movement: The painting clearly harks back to the tradition of the Neapolitan School or the Posillipo School, characterized by a strong focus on natural light, rarefied atmospheres, and scenes of everyday maritime life. • Dimensions: 70 x 50 cm (canvas only, excluding frame). • Condition: Excellent. The canvas is well-stretched on its original mobile interlocking frame with tensioning wedges. The back is clean and undamaged. • Signature: Present at the bottom right, difficult to read (probably an artist's signature from the period). • Frame: Included in the price. Pickup in Treviso or delivery in Veneto.
